Porta Fontebranda<\/h2>\n

Porta Fontebranda is one of the oldest gates of Siena and was built between 1230 and 1257 <\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This door is part of the fourth circle of walls and is made with a double arch that opens into the deep wall curtain.<\/p>\n

It is located between the Convent of San Domenico and Porta Laterina and in the past it was equipped with an antiport and a tower. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Porta Fontebranda was defended by the Compagnia Militare di Sant’Antonio <\/strong>, one of the most important and decisive military corporations of the city of Siena both in defense and in attack.<\/p>\n
